December 19, 2008 Corporate Meeting

The clubs corporate meeting and Christmas party took place Friday December 19, 2008 at the Peck's around 7 pm. Although the tables and chairs were setup in the front room the meeting was held in the kitchen, that's where the food & snacks were. After the minutes were read and the Paymaster's report given the elections started. The following members are the new board for 2009

Superintendant     – Rick Shumpert

Assistant superintendant – Mike Peck

Station Master – Steve Peters

Paymaster – Chris Dueker

Members –at–Large – John Grier & Dave Woosley

Past superintendant – Lester Coburn

Congratulations! After the meeting those that could stay visited. Hopefully next year more of the spouses can attend.

TECO Show

The club will load the MTL at 6 pm Friday January 9th and head over to the Crown Plaza Hotel to setup around 6:30 pm. On Saturday January 10th the doors will open at 7:30 am for the early buyers and then regular admission will start at 9 am. The show runs to 2:30 pm and then teardown after wards. Club members that are going to be working this show need to contact Mike Peck so he can get you passes or you will have to pay at the door to get in. We need members to run trains with a turnover every 2 hours. May need some help selling tickets and always help with security.

Saturday Running Sessions

At the corporate meeting Ron stated we need to start having people down at the club room running trains. We could end up getting some new members and maybe some donations to help pay the rent. If you would like to run trains bit are not familiar with the equipment come down on a Friday night and there should be someone there to go over it with you. The main thing is that after the bridge is put in the running position you will need to insert the locking bar so no one can open the bridge while you are running trains. If you need a set of keys to get in see Ron if he is open or contact one of the board members.

Dues!  Dues!  Dues!

That's right it's that time of year again! I've asked to express to club members that if you pay the whole year in advance you only pay for 11 months. You have until March 1, 2009 to get paid up for the discount. If you don't remember what your dues are contact the Paymaster – Chris Dueker. For those who want to continue to monthly continue doing so.

Garden City, KS Boot Hill Show

Past member Vicki Swanson has a 2'X4' module available for anyone who wants it. Let Mike know so he can make arrangements to pick it up. There are buildings that come with the module. Vicki recommends rebuilding the module. Let Mike know if you want it by January 5th.
