Denver & New Orleans field trip

The purpose of this field trip is to view what is left of the old Denver & New Orleans RR grade before development totally destroys it all. For those wishing to go on this trip meet at the old Cub Foods parking lot at Constitution & Powers Blvd at 10 am. This trip should take about 4 hours so bring a lunch and something to drink.

Royal Gorge Train Trip

This trip is scheduled for Saturday August 8 at 3:30 pm. For those wishing to car pool to Canon City meet at the Nevada & Tejon Park & Ride at 2 pm. If you are going down on your own be at the depot by 3 pm. After the ride for those who wish we may do a little exploring and then grab a bite to eat.

Camp Hale Campout

The purpose of this trip is to explore the east side of Hagerman Pass to see the old grade and maybe some parts of the great trestle and to explore the old Denver & Rio Grande narrow gage route over Tennessee Pass. This trip had to be cancelled in June and is rescheduled for August 15 & 16. For those wishing to go on this trip contact Mike Peck and he can give you the camping info. Camp sites have to be reserved for a 2 day minimum. The schedule for this trip is to arrive Friday afternoon and setup camp. Saturday morning eat breakfast and fix a lunch. We will carpool in 4-wheel drives and head to Hagerman pass and Busk-Ivanhoe Tunnel and work our way back toward Camp Hale. On Sunday we will drive and hike parts of the G&RG narrow gage route over Tennessee Pass.

MTL Repair work Session

We have scheduled another weekend to work on the MTL. We will be working at Charley's house again on Saturday & Sunday August 22 & 23. Saturday's hours are 9 am to 4 pm and Sunday's hours are 10 am to 4 pm. This time I'll take procedural pictures for the September Railhead.

Combined Picnic

The combined picnic will be held on Saturday August 29 in Palmer Lake, CO. Whoever gets there first can hold a pavilion if one is available. We have canopies available if we need them. The "N"Gineers are providing the burgers and dogs and doing the cooking this year. Bring a side dish for about 8 people and your own chair and something to drink. The club will have the plates and silverware and cups.

Club Jackets & Shirts

The new club jackets and shirts are in. For those of you who ordered and paid for them you can get them from Chris. If you did not order a jacket or shirt and would like to get one see Mike as he is putting another order together.

North bound tank & personal carriers A BNSF business train

You just don't know what will be going by the club room. Sometimes a train will sneak in and almost be gone before a photo can be taken as with the two photos above.
